Enriching our living by examining our dying

Do you want to die with no regrets?

Despite overwhelming evidence of our own impermanence, our culture is afraid of the “D” word. Not many of us are willing to explore the terrain of our own deaths as a perfect prompt for preparing for whatever may come next in our lives; be it grief or joy, sickness or health. The fact is, when we choose to live with an understanding and acceptance of our mortality, our life becomes infused with immediacy and meaning.

Although none of us know when we will take our last breath, we have a great deal of control over what we choose to do with the time we have. Considering our own deaths or the death of loved ones is territory we instinctively avoid until we are forced to deal with it by necessity. And we are usually unprepared. It is only when we are brave enough to “practice” dying before our natural death that we take a great deal of worry and fear away from the dying process.

Our life decisions become transformed with heightened awareness.
